It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Preston DeSmit (Lethbridge, Alberta), who passed away on March 17, 2023, at the age of 17, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He is survived by: his parents, Julie Lane (Scott) of Lethbridge and Dallas DeSmit (Susan) of Lethbridge; his brother Dax DeSmit (Dustin) of Edmonton; his stepsister Ashley Lane of Calgary; his grandfather Melvin Pragnell (Tamara) of Welland; his uncle Steven Pragnell (Stefanie) of Niagara Falls, Ontario.; his grandmother Cecelia DeSmit of Fort Macleod; his uncles, Carlos DeSmit (Ang) of Fort St, Raymond DeSmit (Mona) of Spruce Grove, AB and Darcy DeSmit (Michelle) of Lethbridge, AB; his grandparents, Ian and Clasina; his uncles, Mike (Kathy) and Rob (Lily); his aunt Marj (Kevin); and his stepgrandfather Ian Lane (Marci) of Lethbridge.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations go to any mental health charity of their choice, or the GoFundMe account "in honour of Preston". The donations will be directed towards the most needed recreation items for the Wellness Centre at Chinook High School, where they provide a safe and inviting place for teens to relax in, as this space was so very important to Preston.
