He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Rempel and Annie Rempel (Fehr); and his siblings, Abe, Sarah, Walter, Henry, Willy, Helen and Ruth.

He is survived by: his daughters, Tahirih Rempel (Andrew Ichikawa) and Sholeh Rempel (Chris Scholpp); his grandchildren, Kai, Asha and Akeo Ichikawa; and his siblings, Anne, Jack, Tina, Mary and David. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
