She was predeceased by: her husband Yosh Akune; her grandson Michael Akune; and her siblings, Setsuko Matsugi (late Dairo), Teruko Savage and Roy Ikeda.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Imahashi (Bob), Brian Akune (Rhea) and Steve Akune (Cindy); her sisters, Yoshiye Nakata (late Dick), Hiroko Ikeda and Mariko Sato (Akio); her siblings-in-law, Haruko Ikeda and Peter Savage; and her pet Kinu. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
