He was predeceased by: his siblings, Arvilla Pitcher (DeCon), Earl Smith (Irene) and Sharon Howells (Chad). He is survived by: his children, Danielle Fehr (Cori) of Raymond, Lorena Engen (Aaron) of Okotoks, Wendy Bennett (Rod) of Lethbridge, Lynn Hill (late Ron) of Raymond, Colin Smith (Camie) of Portland, Orvil Smith (Marilyn) of Calgary, Cheryl Lewis (Roger) of Cardston and Diane Crane (Trevor) of Great Falls; and his wife Virginia Paxman. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 76 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Lethbridge Food Bank at 1016 – 2 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0C9.
