He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Nancy; his daughters, Eriko Yamada (Katsutoshi) of Japan and Lisa Nakamura (Doug Mathieson) of Vancouver; his stepson Timothy Katakami (Catherine) of Red Deer; his grandchildren, Quintin Nakamura and Ciara Yamada; his stepgrandchildren, Steven (Janie) and Kristin; his sister Keiko Nakashima; his niece Mari Nakashima; his parents, Nobuo Nakamura and Satoko Nakamura; and his friend Colleagues.
