He was predeceased by: his parents, John Verhage Sr. and Aagjie Verhage; his stepmother Irene Verhage; and his brothers, Dirk Verhage and Hendrick Verhage.
He is survived by: his wife Doreen Verhage (Schile); his grandchildren, Hannah, Jack, Darrah, Xander, Matthew and Jerzy; and his siblings, Tina Bayer, Ann Sorenson, Cory (Joe Pysh), Jane (Merv Makaroff), Elsie (Jerry Presiloski), Aggie (Ron Francis) and Louis Verhage. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Due to COVID restrictions a private family service will be held.
