He was predeceased by: his former wives, Antonia "Toni" Van and Antonia "Toni" Husch; his parents, Peter Husch and Freida Husch; his brother Richard; his sister-in-law Wilma Husch; and his son-in-law Pat Maclean.

He is survived by: his wife Anneliese "Lissy"; his children, Mary Ann Mirkovich (Gord), Rosie MacLean, Debi McGrath (Darryl) and Jeff Husch (Kathy); his sisters, Maria Lothian (John) and Freida Sanford (Bob); his grandchildren, Shawn Mirkovich, Nikki Bengry, Austin McGrath, Katie Maclean and Layla Husch; his great grandchildren, Lukas, Jackson and Isabella; and also Germany.

As per John's wishes, a celebration of his life will take place "when Covid is over".
