He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas and Ella Thomas; and his sisters, Hazel and Laura. He is survived by: his wife Kay Finley; his children, Barbara and Rick (Shelly); his grandchildren, Jaime (Ariel), Shayla, Tyler, Lianne (Ben), Cameron, Kennedy, Jordan (Tarilie), Nolan, Natalya, Rachelle, Lexi (Simon), Luca, Max and Cherise; and his siblings, Myrtle, Eleanor of Dewitt, Iowa and Bill.
