He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Olson and Nancy Olson; and his brothers, John, Rex and David.

He is survived by: his siblings, Herald Olson (Jean) of Spruce Grove, Hilda Ganger of Lethbridge, Georgina Steffler of Stony Plain, Esther Wenckowski (Ron) of Stony Plain, Susan Riehl of Lethbridge, Chris Olson of Lethbridge and Bonnie DeSmit (Octave) of Stony Plain. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
