He was predeceased by: his close friend Rhonda Sauerberg; his parents, James Allan Jarvie and Anne L. Jarvie (Olshaski); and his siblings, Beverly Anne, Melvin, Weldon James (Jim) and Andrew Jarvie.

He is survived by: his children, Kristen Vanderwal (Richard) and Justin Jarvie; his granddaughter Charlotte Vanderwal; and his sister Karen Jarvie (Al).
