She was predeceased by: her husband Leo Schmidt; her parents, Karl Henschel and Susanna Henschel; her siblings, Gerhard, Lora (Knopp), Erna (Neitsch), Ruth (Knopp), Clara, Amanda, Clarence, Alfred and Norman; and her children-in-law, John Nicholson and Caroline Schmidt (Halladay).
She is survived by: her children, Vern Schmidt (Dawn), Harvey Schmidt (Lora), Alvin, Gerald, Larry, Valerie Nicholson (Paul) and Marjorie Schmidt (Bruce). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
