He was predeceased by: his parents, Marjorie Bell and Douglas Shular; and his brother Ronald Shular. He is survived by: his wife Linda Shular; his children, Sarah Shular and Isaac Shular (Jennie Shular); his sister-in-law Gabriele Kremnitz; and his nephew Harvey Shular (Kate Shular).
