With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Douglas Haverland (Leduc, Alberta), born in Trenton, Ontario, who passed away on June 29, 2022 at the age of 57. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Dave Haverland; his brother Dean Haverland; and his father-in-law Fred Hoffman. He is survived by: his wife Charlene; his sons, Christopher, Matthew, Jeffrey and Blair; his mother Bonnie Haverland; his mother-in-law Bev Hoffman; his sister Nicki; and his brothers-in-law, Darcy and Casey. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, niece and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doug's name to the Children's Stollery Hospital at U of A.

“With a very heavy heart when I found out that my best childhood friend, Douglas, passed away. I remember that we were inseparable during our teenage years from Grade 9 to Grade 11. Somehow we drifted apart when Douglas went to St. Joseph High School for its automotive program. I have fond memories of Douglas when he used to, without failures, wait for me to finish work at the Hotel MacDonald, then we would head off to attend house parties just for fun. He was very protective as a big brother.”
