He was predeceased by: his parents, Geert and Froukje; his parents-in-law, Roelof and Geertje; and his siblings-in-law, Arie and Cobi.
He is survived by: his wife Tiny; his children, Cheryl (Brian), Freda (Curt), Gerald (Laura) and Roland (Sarah); his grandchildren, Caleb (Shae), Issac (Summer), Lauren, Emma, Taylor (Seth), Jenna, Mikala, Ryan, Matt, Rianna, Mason, Ava and Hunter; and his siblings, Baukje, Annie (Fran) and Jan (Gerrie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories.
