He was predeceased by: his father Michael; and his brother Arthur. He is survived by: his mother Wilma Sabo; his sister-in-law Lillian Sabo; and his siblings, Ingrid, Wendy Cherniwchan (Richard), Darlene Shapka (Douglas) and Darrell Sabo (Rachida). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
