He was predeceased by: his parents, Heinrich and Katharina; and his sisters, Tina Spenst and Elizabeth Shearer. He is survived by: his wife Martha; his children, David, Michelle Spenst and Julie Nicol (Shawn); his grandchildren, Andrew Johnson-Spenst, Cali Nicol and Cannon Nicol; and his siblings, Mary Nations (Olen), Kathy Zachary, Hilda Welygan (Joe), Elsie Spenst, Nettie Gill (Victor) and Erna Virene. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family members and many friends.
