Clifford Wayne Sprague Obituary
The family of Clifford Wayne Sprague wish to announce his peaceful but unexpected passing at his home in Lacombe with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Clifford is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Seibel, his sons; Jeff (Cheryl) Sprague, Darren (Melodie) Sprague; step sons, Kerry Michaud and Vincent Abato; his grandchildren; Nikoletta (Jake) Kallos, Tonia Sprague, David (Hailey) Sprague, Jesse Sprague, Shawn Dallas Sprague, Christian James Sprague and his step granddaughter, Amanda; numerous great grandchildren; his sister Mabel and his brother Jim Sprague and numerous other relatives.
Clifford was predeceased by his first wife Mona, his oldest son, Dale, his loyal wife, Jean; his stepdaughters, Bonny Michaud, Susan Kool and many other family.
Cliff was born at the end of the Great Depression, and his family knew what it was like to live in hard times leaving school at a very young age. He quit school to both support his father who suffered badly from ailing health and to help his oldest brother go to university. Later in life Cliff joined the Military where he was not only a self defense instructor, but he was also a Personal Bodyguard and Chauffer for a Three Star General. Cliff was the Heavy Weight Boxing Champion for the four years for the British Overseas Army Forces.
In the Oil Field Cliff worked extensively in the Middle East, rising in the industry to a Field Superintendent of over 120 rigs. Upon retirement from the Oil Field where he travelled the world he settled in Calgary where he operated a house renovation company and three taxis, which he then sold and operated the Taxi Garage.
After that he retired but never quit. Clifford's favourite hobbies were gardening, carpentry and woodworking. Cliff's favorite memories included spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and both meeting and courting Barbara Seibel, his loving and devoted wife.
A Celebration of Clifford's Life will be held at the Wolf Creek Community Church, Lacombe on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
