He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecile Desjarlais and Willy Desjarlais; his daughter Cecile Boucher; his grandson Jessie Thiessen; his brothers, Jerry Desjarlais, Lawrence Desjarlais, Rene Desjarlais and Walter Desjarlais; and his brothers-in-law, Robbie MacDonald and Barry Heimbecker.
He is survived by: his children, Leonard Philips, Ken Thiessen, Dwayne Thiessen (Holly), Leah Thiessen, Ricky Boucher and Travis Cardinal; and his siblings, Charlie Desjarlais (Karen), Martin Desjarlais (Pat), Johnston Desjarlais, Leonard Desjarlais, Mary MacDonald, Thyra Lavallee (Jerry), Linda Gervais and Annie Heimbecker. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
