It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dolores Smith (Lac la Biche, Alberta), born in Mannville, Alberta, who passed away on August 4, 2019, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Simmonds and Lillian Simmonds; her siblings, Gary Simmonds, Morris Simmonds, Laura Chartier, Blanche Anderson, Shirley Herrle, Rita Flinn, Clifford John and Darlene; her brothers-in-law, Walt Anderson, Bud Herrle, Bill Flinn and Orville Olsen; and her parents-in-law, Elie and Jean Malbeuf.
She is survived by: her husband Lawrence "Sonny" Smith; her children, Roger Smith (Annette), Glenda Dechaine (Jack), Shelley Plamondon (Cecil) and Linda Smith-Weymouth (Brian); her grandchildren, Dawn Blondeau (Dustin), Ashley Langdown (Dwayne), Kris Smith (Cassie), Kyle Smith (Tiffany), Matthew Dechaine (Amanda), Samantha Dechaine, Nicole Dechaine (Landin Childs), Adam Dechaine, Jared Dechaine, Tyler Smith (Darleen Lee), Jaylynn Plamondon (Devon Craig), Bryan Weymouth (Leasa Lachance) and Kylee Weymouth (Michael Pieroway); her sister Lois Olsen of Irma; and her sister-in-law Linda Simmonds of Vermillion. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, donations of the Alberta Lung Association, Alberta Cancer Foundation, Alberta Heart and Stoke Foundation or the Minburn Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.
