He was predeceased by: his parents, Aksel Christensen and Ellen Christensen; his wife Lis; and his siblings, Hans, Herluf, Knud, Lasse, Karl Åge, Bent, Ole and Ellen.
He is survived by: his stepson Jesper Nielsen (Meredith); his stepgrandchildren, Chelsea (Wilhelm), Brittany and Alex (Cassidy); his stepson Jan Nielsen of Denmark; his stepgrandchildren, Lasse and Nikki; his stepdaughter Bente Lunty (Melvin); his stepgrandchildren, Tina, Anders, Michelle, Piper and Oliver; and also Per Christensen.
Unfortunately, in the last few years he was unable to sew and bowl as his Parkinson's progressed. Memorial donations in memory of Svend can be made to Parkinson's Association of Alberta, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or a charity of one's choice.
