He was predeceased by: his wife Helen; his son Daren; his parents, Marvin and Irma; and his siblings-in-law, Larry, Eunice and Louise.

He is survived by: his sons, Randy (Joanne), Kelly (Elaine) and Darcy (Judy); his grandchildren, Jessica (Cody), Tiffany, Lindsay (Ashly), Liesel (Brett) and Veronica; his great grandchildren, Levi, Avrielle, Elin, Huxley and Ellis; and his sisters, Janice (Lloyd), Laurie and Leanne (Rick). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

If friends so desire memorial donations may be made in Ellwood's memory to the King of Kings Lutheran Church or the ALS Society of Alberta.
