He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Thomson (Simpson) and Jack Thomson; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Ehrman, Bob Hornby, Russell Bennett, Jim Johnston and Ron Johnston.

He is survived by: his sisters, Kay Thomson, Jean Bennett and Pat Hornby; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Ehrman, Diane Luxen (Jeff), June Bevan (Jim) and Doug Johnston (Marie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
