Jake Bartsch Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jake Bartsch of Hythe, Alberta, born in Hague, Saskatchewan, who passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Bartsch; his parents, George Bartsch and Aganetha Bartsch; his parents-in-law, John and Justina Lowen; his siblings, John Bartsch and Anna Ladwig; his grandchildren, Jessica Funk and Kelly Siemens; and his great grandchild Taylor August.

He is survived by: his children, Elma Mackie (Harvey), Ernie Bartsch (Cathy) and Marilyn Funk (George); his grandchildren, Miranda Brown (Cody), Dayleen Stewart (Jeff), Jolene Tod, Loyd Bartsch, Deanna Funk (Ryan) and Kelsey DeSchipper (Travis); his great grandchildren, Chase Siemens, Nate Siemens, Cayden Stewart, Garret Stewart, Evelyn Tod, Jacqueline Tod, Audrey Tod, Henry DeSchipper and Marlowe Funk; his siblings, Marie Lowen, Tina Bakkehaug (Ole) and David Bartsch (Ivy); and his in-laws, Arnold Ladwig, Susie Bartsch, Tina Pierson, Margaret Peters (Jake), David Lowen (Shirley), Frank Lowen (Trudi) and Torger Torgerson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Memorial donations can be made to the Hythe Pioneer Home. Donations will go towards air conditioning in the dining and recreation areas (Box 390 Hythe, AB, T0H 2C0).
