She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Schultz and Wilhelmina Schultz; her siblings, Bertha, William, Reinold, Gottlieb, Adolph and Edward; her former husband Albert Tews; and her son-in-law Al McBean.

She is survived by: her husband Herman Briese; her children, Joyce McBean, David Tews, Anita Briese and Cindy Lock (Darren); her grandchildren, Lisa McBean, Peter McBean (Melanie), Dayton Lock (Kaeli), Taylor Lock, Zackary Lock (Victoria) and Alyssa Demchuk; her great grandchildren, Piper, Zoey McBean and Jaden Lock; and her sister Olga Breitkreutz. She is also survived by in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
