It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elva Carlstrom of Hythe, Alberta, born in La Glace, Alberta, who passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Hoflin and Esther Hoflin; her husband Herb; her siblings, Leonard, Donnie, Grace and Audrey; and her brothers-in-law, Elmer Rude, Stanley Carlstad and Jim Anderson.
She is survived by: her son Neil (Donna); her grandchildren, Megan (Jason Green), Chad (Britney) and Erin; her son Rod (Dennise); her grandchildren, Ryan (Jen) and Kyle (Nick); her son Lyle (Pam Williams); her grandchildren, Emily, Joshua and Zachary; her daughter Carol Hogg (Sid); her grandchildren, Riley and Heather (Erich Winges); her sisters, Ethel Rude of Medicine Hat and Ruth Carlstad of Bear Canyon; and her brother-in-law Bill Sawarin of Pentiction. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Hythe Golden Age Center (10112, 100 St., Hythe, AB, T0H 2C0) where Herb and Elva spent many hours in their retirement.
