She was predeceased by: her siblings-in-law, Nick Munro and Yvette Gross; and her son-in-law Ed Sage. She is survived by: her children, Sherri Snydmiller (Dan) and Ryan Kirkpatrick (Kristi); her grandchildren, Erica (Mitch), Jessica (Scott), Danielle, Jared, Adam and Megan; her siblings, Allan Gross (Lucienne), Larry Gross and Joanne Murtagh (Gregg); and her siblings-in-law, Andy Kirkpatrick, David Kirkpatrick (Judy), Margaret Munro and Winnie Peake (Hughie). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory will be gratefully accepted by the Alberta Cancer Foundation or the Hussar Cemetery Fund.
