He was predeceased by: his children, Troy and Jodi; his parents, Fred Grinde and Olga Grinde; and his siblings, Gusty George, Claire Grinde, Gertie Mizera, Reinold Grinde and Arthur Grinde.

He is survived by: his wife Carol; his daughter Pam Schultz (Russell) of Hay Lakes; and his siblings, Antonia Penill, Evelyn Davies, Helen Ruskenveld of Fort Saskatchewan and Rueben Grinde of Holden.
