He is survived by: his wife Edna West; his children, Larry, Marjorie Whiteley (Tim) of Hinton, AB. and Paula Appel (Gerry) of Hinton, AB.; his grandchildren, Tyler Appel, Matthew Appel, Anna Couture (Chris) of Hinton, AB, Travis Appel (Jessica) of Sylvan Lake, AB, Samuel Whiteley (Virina) of Edmonton and Michael Whiteley (Mariah) of Calgary, AB; his great grandchildren, Reese, Erica Couture of Hinton, Landon, Rylan Appel of Sylvan Lake and Lazarus Whiteley of Calgary, AB.; his sisters, Vivien Hartt and Wilma Baker (Gerald); and his sister-in-law Carol West. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Grace Church (101 Sunwapta Dr, Hinton, AB T7V1G3).
