She was predeceased by: her parent Mel Beard; her former husband Bert Newfield; her mother Violet Nafield; and her grandparents, Alfred, Elizabeth Hillier, Ethel Beard and William Beard.

She is survived by: her children, Brian Newfield, Carolyn Lavoie (Kerry) and Rob Newfield; her grandchildren, Christopher (Renee), Bob (Tara), Kara (Jen), Terra and Sam; her great grandchild Logan; and her siblings, Bob Beard and Sharon Corke. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and cousins.

She knitted hundreds of children's sweaters and hats for charity to be sent overseas.
