He was predeceased by: his parents, Anne Ball and Fitzgerald Ball; and his brothers, Bob and Dennis. He is survived by: his wife Elke; his daughters, Kathryn (Cody) and Jennifer (Karey); his grandchildren, Grayson, Kayle and Mikayla; and his siblings, Patsy and Jerry.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lorne's honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
