He was predeceased by: his parents, Janny and Piet. He is survived by: his wife Denise; his children, Michelle Wind (Dean), Annaleis Armstrong (John) and Pieter Wind (Amanda); his grandchildren, Quinn, Tate, Aleda, Jorja, Brody and Ryker; his daughter Denise; and also, Danielle Palmer (Robert), Jean-Paul Michaud (Carrie Anne), Michelle Ponting (Bill), Sam (Angella), Abigail, Hannah, Ineke DeVries Visser (George), Liesje Bosgra, Henk Wind (Cidnee) and Cobi Verhoeff (Paul). He is also survived by his family, friends.

A celebration of life was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the High River United Church (123 Macleod Trail SW, High River, AB T1V1M6).

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family feels Hessel would want you to spend your money making memories with those you hold close to your heart - hopefully it's Denise ;) Rest in peace, Hessel.
