He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Bechtel and Lovercia Bechtel. He is survived by: his siblings, Earl (Jacquie) of Lethbridge, Harold (Teresa) of Westlock, David of Grande Prairie and Joan Krueger (Felix) of Osoyoos, B. C.. He is also survived by five nephews and three nieces.
