He was predeceased by: his wife Pat; his daughter Cindy; his parents, Duncan and Florence; and his siblings, Stan, Reg, Dorothy and Edna.

He is survived by: his children, Tami Cartwright (John), Darcy Whitford (Bonny), Sherry Whitford and Shelley Lippert; his grandchildren, Victoria (Michael), Chantel (Lauren), Sam, Piper, Cooper, Megan, Sean and Mikayla; his great grandchildren, Benton, Adilyn and Thea; his niece Tracey Wilson (Ryan); his nephew Keith Whitford (Marilyn); his siblings, Marge (Lorne), Yvonne, Helen (Eric), Louise (Len), Ivan (Ann) and Marcel; and his close friend Bev Van Dine (Bill Earl). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
