She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Heywood and Mary Heywood; her son Ken Short; her grandchildren, Sarah and James Short; and her son-in-law Dennis Mercer.
She is survived by: her siblings, Jim Heywood, Hazel Tweed and Joyce Wallace; and her children, Don Short (Pam), Walter Short (Janice) and Linda Mercer. She is also survived by grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and their spouses.
If desired, memorial donations may be made in Ethel's memory to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation.
