He was predeceased by: his parents, James Burndred and Helen Burndred; his parents-in-law, May Omilusik and Steve Omilusik; and his brother-in-law Robert Coulson.

He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Burndred of High River; his children, Tammi Chudak of Calgary, Trevor Burndred (Jodi) of High River and Travis Burndred of Lethbridge; his grandchildren, Bryce, Cara, Brinley, Kayli, Karmyn and Karysa; his sister Helen Perry (Tom Hollywood); his niece Robyn; and his nephew Michael. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles.
