He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Thomas Smith (Marie), Steven Smith and Kimberly Workneh (Benyam); his grandchildren, Joslyn, Austin, Jesse and Elijah; and his brother Donald Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
