She was predeceased by: her children, David and Hilda Mae Kassen; her siblings, Don, Benjamin (Evelyn) and Ada Gilham (Lyle); and also, Allan Trew, Carl Nelson (Marge), Lottie Nebel (Jack) and Jean Trew (John).

She is survived by: her spouse John Sykes Nelson (Jack); her son Jerry Nelson (Dianne); her grandchildren, Sage, Kathleen, Cordell and Ainsley; her son-in-law Ralph Kassen (Jamie); her granddaughter Sarah Corbin (Scott); her great grandchildren, Lizzie, Jack and Jessica (Alabama); her grandson Caleb Kassen (Taiwan); and her siblings-in-law, Jo Trew, Sandra Kaytor (Don), Yvonne Hammond and Gary Nelson (Karan). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
