He was predeceased by: his father Dennis Howell; his brother Ken Howell; his brother-in-law Jack Hemerle; his grandparents, Joseph, Mary Howell, Pete and Dorothy Comeau; and his parents-in-law, Ron and Yvonne Fester.

He is survived by: his mother Joan Howell; his wife Colleen Fester; his siblings, Brenda Howell, Linda Hemerle (Dave), Jim Howell and Shelley Penson (Russell); his sister-in-law Trina Binks (Brad); and his nieces and nephews, Jason, Brandon Hemerle (Samantha), Brittany Levesque, Jordan (Dakota), Cole (Talisa), Andrea Penson, Denny and Madeline Howell.
