He was predeceased by: his parents, Tony Szmata and Annie Szmata. He is survived by: his brothers, Nick, Metro and John; his wife Doreen Isabel Montgomery; his sons, Brian, Donald, Robert and Sheldon; and his grandchildren, Andrew (Tamara), Chad, Brenden (Allie), Everet, Krystian, Kendra Szmata, April Fairless (Corson), Chantielle Fortin (Sebastien) and Alicia (Braden Moon).
