She was predeceased by: her parents, John Dedick and Elsie Dedick; her children, Wanda Sklapsky and Eddy Szmata; and her siblings, Catherine Zavisha, Anne Boychuk, Lena Knapp, Helen Noskey and Tommie Dedick.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Szmata; and her children, Ken (Rachel), Debbie Sadd (Terry), Pauline Bentley (Richard), David (Corinne) and Tannis Coen (Rod). She is also survived by 19 Grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
