The passing of Mary Szmata of Grimshaw, Alberta, born in Peace River, Alberta leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on October 25, 2024 at the age of 87. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Dedick and Elsie Dedick; her children, Wanda Sklapsky and Eddy Szmata; and her siblings, Catherine Zavisha, Anne Boychuk, Lena Knapp, Helen Noskey and Tommie Dedick.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Szmata; and her children, Ken (Rachel), Debbie Sadd (Terry), Pauline Bentley (Richard), David (Corinne) and Tannis Coen (Rod). She is also survived by 19 Grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (8602 98 St, Peace River, AB T8S1G4).
