The memory of Shirley Anne Heiken (Grande Prairie, Alberta), who passed away on December 2, 2024 at the age of 92, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Grant Rix and Kathleen Rix; her husband John Heiken; her children, Carole and Richard; and her grandson Lukas Martin Heiken.
She is survived by: her daughter Maureen (Dan Pearcy); her grandchildren, Riley (Krysta) and Mallory (Patrick Ritchie); her child Christy (Bill Sommerfeld); her grandchildren, Marissa (Kurtis Neigel) and Colton; her daughter Susan (John Cabral); her grandchildren, Jacqueline, Steven and Catherine (Mitchel Stordy); her daughter Sandra (Robert Schroeder); her grandchildren, Jennifer, Stuart (Quincey) and Mathew; her son-inlaw David Trydal (Tannis); her daughter-in-law Kathleen Heiken; her grandchildren-in-law, Leslie (Tanner Stark) and Donavan; her siblings, Phylis Powell and Herb Rix (Lydia); and also, Erin (Doug Gallup), Christopher (Jennifer) and Jordan (Elaine). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bear Creek Funeral Home (11802 99 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB T8W0C7).
