He was predeceased by: his grandmothers, Margaret Payea and Betty Barthel; and his stepfather Steve Gurbacs. He is survived by: his daughter Bethany; his wife Chantelle Barthel; his son Eric Barthel; his parents, Marie Payea Gurbacs Closs and Ed Barthel (Marg); his siblings-in-law, Debby and Sonney Cyr; his siblings, Rose McClanaghan (Nip), Kelly Barthel (Shirley), Karl Barthel (Sonya), Ashley Miller (Jason), Brittany Cyr (Shamus) and Miller; his nephews, Donald (Brandy), Sean (Tazara), Beau (Rana), Kym (Kelsey), Chad (Giang), Adam (Laurissa), Hunter and David-Patrick; and his niece Darryllynn (Willy). He is also survived by many cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
