Colin H Conrad Obituary
With solemn reverence, we commemorate Colin H. Conrad (Grande Prairie, Alberta), whose earthly life came to a conclusion on June 19, 2024 at the age of 77, leaving behind cherished memories. Please leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Colin H Conrad to show support.
Colin grew up in the Clairmont / Sexsmith area on the family farm, just north of Mercer Hill. Shortly after graduating high school, Colin accepted a position with AGT (now TELUS) as a cable splicer, and "retired" 37 years later after an accomplished and storied career. His work ethic was just one of many outstanding traits he was known for. Honesty (almost to a fault!), integrity, compassion, and generosity were just a few of the other many traits he exemplified. It was truly a privilege and honour to know Colin, and to be counted among his many friends and co-workers! Above all, however, Colin was a family man, and there was nothing that made him happier than to be surrounded by his wife, children, and their families!
Colin was predeceased by: his parents, Jack and Jean (Farmer) Conrad; his brother Neil; his grandparents, Harlie and Florence Conrad, and Alexander and Annie Farmer; his parents-in-law, Augustin and Luzina LaBossiere; and his siblings-in-law, Elaine Murray, Leda Matheson, Don LaBossiere, and Michel LaBossiere.
He is survived by : his wife Vivian (nee LaBossiere); his children, Lynelle (Jason) Orrock of Grande Prairie, Deanna (Greg) Stearns of Spruce Grove, and Christopher (Nicolle) Conrad of Brisbane, AUS; his grandchildren, Aidan and Maren Stearns of Spruce Grove; his siblings, Calvin (Donna) Conrad, Anne (Gordon) Symborski, and Holly (Dan) Guay; his siblings-in-law, Claudette McGee, Marcelle Labrecque, and Dan (Kim) LaBossiere; as well as his uncle Patrick (Patricia) Conrad. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special friends, the Robertson families.
