He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Fink and Elsie Fink; his significant other Jean Price; and his son Gary. He is survived by: his siblings, Edgar, Wilfred, Vera and Lorene; his uncle Bill Fink; his daughter Beverly Bownes (Alan); his grandchildren, Cara Kroetsch (Gary), Taylor, Trent (Jamey), Jenny Sigsworth (Rob), Gage, Teige, Emery, Nathan Bownes (Leanne), Jordan and Liam; his son Terry (Nikki); his grandchildren, Brad and Aidan; his daughter-in-law Brenda (Brian Forster); his grandchild-in-law Shawn Fink; his children, Brooke, Austin, Phoenix, Linda Kells (Shane), Lexie, Kole and Holly (Caroline); his sister Connie Reid (Bob); and his siblings-in-law, Elsie Bish, Lois Price and Gerald Price.

Memorial donations in memory of Alvin may be made to the Galahad Care Centre or a charity of the donor's choice.
