She is survived by: her husband Steven Brertton; her son Jesse McGilvery; her parents, Sylvia Delver and William McGilvery; her siblings, Sidney Hunter (Christine), Eileen Redcalf (Andrew), Wayne McGilvery, Bernie McGilvery (Melda), Bernice McGilvery (Curtis), Diane McGilvery, Susanna Cross (Cliffton), Margaret McGilvery, Nancy McGilvery (Lance) and Peter Jr.; and her half-brothers, Joe Anderson and Deodus Firingstoney.
