He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred Whitford and Blanche Gray; and his son Neil Edwin Whitford Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Yvonne; his daughter Bobbi-Marie; his sister Sandra Gillis; and his grandchildren, Dan Snyder (Schandra), Samantha Dion (Vince), Jordan Cadrain and Devin Cadrain. He is also survived by relatives and friends.

In Lieu of flowers the family encourage donations in Neil's name be made to any Animal Rescue Society.
