He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Penhale and Frances Penhale; his brothers, Richard and Edward Penhale; and his son-in-law Sam Laxson.

He is survived by: his wife Stella; his children, Kathy Lindberg (Jared), Karen Lindeman (Darren), Lorna Penhale (Aaron), Laverne Penhale and Edward Penhale (Candace); his grandchildren, Cody Lindeman (Chu), Jessica Penhale-Laxson (Josh), Kendra Lindberg (Johnny), Cole Lindberg (Jayden) and Carson Penhale; his great grandchildren, Deacon Lindberg, Johnathan Koebel and Parker Lindberg; and his sisters, Eunice Malo (Rene), Laura Scheers and Nancy Corcoran. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
