He was predeceased by: his wife Donna; his parents, Fred Ritter and Alvena Ritter; and his sister Eileen Senft. He is survived by: his children, Karen Kroetsch (Rick) and Kevin (Brenda); his grandchildren, Bradley (Suzanne), Damian, Zachary (Chagai), Josie, Meagan (Armin), Madeline, Kylie (Brady) and Brady (Jessie); and his siblings, Vern, Joyce Beuerlein, Elmer, George and Sharon Schenk. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

Memorial donations in Helmuth's honour can be made directly to the Heartland Community Hospice Foundation, where dad received exceptional care during his stay there.
