He is survived by: his wife Edith Schmidt (Edie); his children, Karen Butkowski (Dennis), Stacey Urwin (William) and Fred Strand (Michelle); his grandchildren, Cody Butkowski, Matthew Butkowski, Chantel Urwin, Jessica Urwin, Jewles Bailey-Strand and Derick Strand; his brother Ron Strand; and his in-laws, Erika and Egon Bastian. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
In Elwood's memory, donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or to a charity of one's choice.
