He was predeceased by: his brothers, Stan and Warren; and his parents, Don Smith and Eunice Smith. He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his sons, Tim, Ken and Robert; his grandchildren, Alysha, Dallas and Kody; and his siblings, Dan and Darlene.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
